Join us on March 4, 2020 for our Newport Lecture Series with a presentation from Dr. Phil Haun on “Contemporary Air Wars: The Effectiveness of Air Power since the Cold War.”
The evening begins with a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception at 5:30pm, followed by the lecture at 6:00pm. There will be opportunities to connect and network with Naval War College Foundation members, colleagues, and friends before and after the presentation.
The Newport Lecture Series is held at the Officers’ Club on Naval Station Newport; base access is required. Please make sure that you are registered to attend with Shawna Campion by Noon on the Friday prior to the lecture to ensure admittance at the gate.
More about Dr. Haun
Phil Haun joined the faculty of the U.S. Naval War College in January 2016 as Dean of Academics. His areas of scholarly and professional expertise are coercion, deterrence, air power theory, strategy, international relations, and security studies. Dr. Haun served for 29 years as an active duty U.S. Air Force officer and A-10 pilot with combat tours in Iraq, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan; he also served as commander of an operational A-10 squadron. In addition to his work at the Naval War College, Dr. Haun is a research affiliate with MIT’s Security Studies Program.
