NEWPORT, R.I. — The Naval War College Foundation has gained a stronger foothold in Michigan and the East North Central region of the U.S. with the appointment of John Peracchio as its newest regional director, effective June 13, 2022.
Peracchio, of Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, will serve as an NWCF regional director for the state of Michigan. He is the managing director of Peracchio & Company LLC, an intelligent transportation systems consulting firm focused on integrating advanced communication technologies into vehicles and infrastructure.
Previously, he was the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Conduent, Inc. and its General Manager – Mobility Solutions and Strategy. He serves as senior advisor to the Michigan Council on Future Mobility and Electrification and was formerly the chair of the council under its prior name, the Michigan Council on Future Mobility.
NWCF’s 11 regional directors identify potential individual and corporate members and benefactors who may have an interest in the missions of the U.S. Naval War College (USNWC) the Foundation (NWCF), Department of the Navy, and issues affecting national security.
Regional directors act as ambassadors and marketing representatives to connect people and corporations in their area of influence with the NWCF and USNWC. They seek ways to generate additional support for the NWCF while educating the public about the important asset that is the USNWC.
“We are thankful for John Peracchio’s commitment and support for the U.S. Naval War College and our Foundation,” NWCF CEO George E. Lang, Jr., said.
“He’s a great addition to our Regional Director program and will play a key role opening doors that will ultimately increase our impact on educating and developing future leaders of our Nation and the world.”
Peracchio is a life member of NWCF and the U.S. Naval Institute and a life member and national delegate of the Navy League of the United States. He is also Vice President – USS Detroit of the Metropolitan Detroit Council of the Navy League and a companion of the Naval Order of the United States.
He holds a law degree from Columbia University and is a member of the New York and Michigan bars and an associate member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. Peracchio received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University.
