Presented by Peter and Jennifer Scanlon, the Newport National Security Dinner is a signature gathering that convenes leaders from across the national security, defense, business, and philanthropic communities for an evening of meaningful conversation and connection.

Set against the backdrop of Newport Harbor at the award-winning Gardiner House, guests will enjoy a cocktail reception and seated dinner while engaging with influential voices shaping the future of global security and leadership.  The evening serves as the premier social and networking event surrounding the Newport National Security Symposium and offers a unique opportunity to build relationships in an intimate setting.

The Newport National Security Symposium, the Naval War College Foundation’s premier thought leadership event, convenes senior military leaders, policymakers, scholars, and innovators to explore emerging global security challenges and the future of strategic leadership. 

The Symposium will be held Friday, August 21, at the U.S. Naval War College. Confirmed speakers include Ambassador David M. Satterfield, Director of Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and former U.S. ambassador to Lebanon and Turkey, and VADM Brendan McLane, USN (Ret.), former Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet.
