Naval War College Professor David Kohnen, PhD, Capt. Tracy B. Kittredge Scholar for War Studies and Maritime History, was the guest lecturer at the third Newport Lecture Series of the 2020-2021 academic year, hosted by the Naval War College Foundation.

In recognition of Trafalgar Night, which is celebrated in the United Kingdom on October 21, Kohnen presented on “Trafalgar Night and Nelson’s Victory of 1805”, and demonstrated how Nelson’s legacy from that battle influenced American maritime strategy and the teachings at the Naval War College.

The lecture was made possible through the generous support of the Pritzker Military Foundation, on behalf of the Pritzker Military Museum and Library.
